/ Parish Life 2022 / 2022-08-07 Parade Ukrainian Village

Saturday August 27, 2022 the faithful of St. Vladimir Parish gathered together with members of the community, elected officials, public office seakers, business people, and adults and school children to participate in the Ukrainian Village Parade celebrating the 31st anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence.

The weather was bright and sunny as observers and parade participants gathered.  The both the east and west curbsides from Wales to Hereford Roads were crowded with people, youngsters, elderly and everyone inbetween.  They were sitting, standing and even jumping around.  Children anticipated the candy that was distributed by the parade participants.  It was reported that this parade had the most participants in its history.

The clergy and faithful most sincerely thank Tanya & Michael Dobronos for the wonderful annual sponsorship of the parish float . It is very much appreciated.

This year, 2022, marks 15 years since Parma began changing the face of State Road. Marioncliff Drive was named St. Vladimir Way. Four poles were erected in front of our church bearing flags with the statute of St. Vladimir in Kyiv as a gift from the city to our parish. On Saturday, July 30th, the Mayor and City Council members painted the fire hydrants in Ukrainian Village blue and yellow.
