The celebration of the Holy Resurrection, also known as Pascha/Easter, is a significant event in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is the most important celebration in the Orthodox Christian calendar, and it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

In our parish of St. Vladimir in Parma, Ohio the celebration of Pascha began on the night of Holy Saturday. A special service called reading of the Acts of the Apostles, Midnight service, followed the procession, Paschal Matins Service.

At midnight, the church bells ring out, and the priest proclaims the joyous news of Christ's resurrection. Everyone is greeted with the traditional greeting "Christ is risen!" - "Indeed, He is risen!"

The service then continues with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, which includes the blessing of the Paschal foods, such as bread, eggs, and cheese. The faithful then share these blessed foods with each other.

Святкування Воскресіння Христового, також відоме як Пасха/Великдень, є дуже важливим в Українській Православній Церкві. Це найважливіше свято в православному християнському календарі, бо воно вшановує воскресіння Ісуса Христа з мертвих.

У нашій парафії св. Володимира святкування Пасхи розпочалося у ніч Святої Суботи читанням Діянь Святих Апостолів, погребіння, урочистого обходу навколо церкви та Пасхальною Утреньою.

Лунають нічні церковні дзвони, і священик проголошує радісну звістку про воскресіння Христа. Всі вітаються традиційним привітанням "Христос воскрес!" "Воістину воскрес!".

Після цього служба продовжується святкуванням Божественної Літургії, під час якої благословляються пасхальні продукти, такі як хліб, яйця та сир.
