A Blessed Celebration of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, Parma, Ohio

У день Різдвяного Святвечора Свято-Володимирський Український Православний Собор у Пармі, Огайо, став світлом віри та любові, коли парафіяни зібралися, щоб радісно відсвяткувати Різдво Господа нашого Ісуса Христа. Вечір розпочався з урочистого Великого Повечір'я, яку чудово очолив настоятель Собору, о. Михайло Гонтарук. Йому співслужили о. Володимир Савчин з Тернополя, Україна, та Протодиякон Ігор Махлай. Ця молитовна служба задавала тон різдвяному святкуванню, наповнюючи всіх присутніх духом тихого очікування, поки вони готували свої серця до приходу Спасителя.

As the light of Christmas dawned, the faithful gathered once again the following day for the Divine Liturgy, the central act of worship on the Feast of the Nativity. The Cathedral was filled to capacity, with all present eagerly participating in the timeless prayers and hymns of the Liturgy. Pastor of the Cathedral Fr. Michael Hontaruk, along with the Pastor Emeritus, Fr. John Nakonachny, Protodeacon Ihor Mahlay, and guest clergy Fr. Roman Yatskiv, pastor of Our Lady of Zhyrovytsk Parish in Strongsville, OH, and Fr. Volodymyr Savchyn, offered a profound expression of the Orthodox Christian faith. Together, they commemorated the miraculous birth of Christ, uniting the congregation in a shared experience of worship and joy.

Коли світло Різдва розпочало розсіювати темряву, віряни зібралися ще раз наступного дня на Божественну Літургію, центру поклоніння святі Різдва. Собор був заповнений вщерть, і всі присутні з радістю брали участь у молитвах і піснях Літургії. Настоятель собору Михайло Гонтарук, разом із настоятелем емеритом о. Іваном Наконечним, Протодияконом Ігорем Махлаєм та запрошеними священнослужителями о. Романом Яцків, настоятелем парафії Богородиці Жировицької в Стронґсвіллі, Огайо, та о. Володимиром Савчином з Тернополя, висловили глибоке святкування християнської віри. Разом вони вшанували чудесне Народження Христа, об'єднуючи парафіян у спільному переживанні поклоніння та радості.

The choir, under the expert direction of Markian Komichak, filled the Cathedral with heavenly voices, singing the responses and Christmas carols with exceptional beauty. Their angelic harmonies created an atmosphere of spiritual transcendence, lifting the hearts and minds of all present toward the divine. The choir’s ethereal melodies not only enriched the service but also deepened the sense of sacredness and joy that permeated the entire celebration.

Хор під керівництвом диригента Маркіяна Комічака заповнив собор небесними голосами, виконуючи піснеспіви та різдвяні колядки з надзвичайною красою. Їх ангельські гармонії створили атмосферу духовного піднесення, підносячи серця та розуми всіх присутніх до божественного. Мелодії хору не лише збагачували службу, але й глибше занурювали в атмосферу святості та радості, що пронизувала все святкування.

The Divine Liturgy was a time of deep reflection, as the faithful came together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior sent to bring light into the world. In his greeting, Fr. Hontaruk reminded the congregation of the profound love that God has for His creation. "God loved us so much that He gave us the greatest gift—the Savior, Jesus Christ," Fr. Hontaruk said, a message that resonated deeply with all those present. His words served as a reminder that Christmas is not only about festive gifts and celebrations, but about the ultimate gift of God's love and salvation through the birth of Christ.

Божественна Літургія стала часом глибоких роздумів, коли віряни зібралися, щоб відсвяткувати народження Ісуса Христа, Спасителя, посланого, щоб принести світло в цей світ. У своїй привітальній промові о. Михайло наголосив на глибокій любові, яку Бог має до свого творіння. "Бог так полюбив нас, що дав нам найкращий дар - Спасителя, Ісуса Христа," - сказав отець Михайло, і це послання глибоко відгукнулося у серцях усіх присутніх. Святкування Різдва у Свято-Володимирському Українському Православному Соборі стало більше, ніж просто святковим обрядом; це був час для парафіяльної родини зібратися разом у молитві, вдячності та духовному відновленні. Це була можливість для кожної людини відчути істинне значення Різдва - безмежну любов і вічну надію, яку принесло народження Христа. Завдяки красі служб, піднесених піснеспівів та натхненного привітання наших Владик: Митрополита Антонія та Архієпископа Даниїла і настоятеля о.
